Welcome To Refine
Refine is here to help individuals grow through personalized domestic violence and anger management programs designed to meet you where you're at, legally or personally. Whether you're navigating court-ordered requirements, CPS involvement, probation or parole mandates, or simply ready to make a meaningful change in your life, we’re here to support you with compassion, not judgment. At Refine, every program is built around real people and real lives. We’re not here to punish, we’re here to help you heal and move forward.
Our programs are flexible, court-approved, and created with your unique schedule and needs in mind. We know life can be chaotic, especially during difficult times, so we make it easier by offering domestic violence classes and anger management sessions that work around your reality. Our services are recognized and accepted by courts, Child Protective Services, and probation/parole departments across the state, so you can feel confident you're fulfilling your obligations while doing real work on yourself in a safe, supportive environment.
At the core of everything we do is heart. We believe change happens one choice at a time, and we’re honored to walk that path with you. You’ll find a team at Refine that truly cares. People who offer professional guidance without ever making you feel less than. We’re not just teaching tools, we’re helping you rebuild confidence, strengthen relationships, and rediscover who you are. Growth isn’t easy, but with the right support, it’s absolutely possible, and we’re with you every step of the way, one choice at a time.

Meet the Founder and Program Director
Hi, my name is Cherise Nielsen. I hold a degree in Social Work and bring over 25 years of experience in the field of Probation and Parole. Throughout my career, both as a probation/parole agent and as a supervisor, I received extensive training in evidence-based practices that have shaped my approach to intervention and rehabilitation. I am proud to be recognized as a MINTie (Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers) and a certified trainer in Drug Endangered Children (DEC), credentials that reflect my commitment to effective, compassionate work with individuals and families affected by complex challenges.
Since 1999, I have been facilitating groups in a variety of settings, personally and professionally. This long-standing experience has given me a deep understanding of group dynamics, motivational strategies, and trauma-informed care. My goal is always to create a space where participants feel supported and empowered to make meaningful changes, especially in areas such as domestic violence and anger management. I believe in using respectful, evidence-based methods that promote accountability, healing, and growth.
At Refine, I draw on this experience and training to deliver programming that is tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual. My passion is helping people break destructive cycles and develop healthier ways to manage emotions and relationships. By combining my hands-on experience with proven techniques, I strive to guide participants toward lasting personal transformation and safer, stronger communities.
